The pictures below have just been sent to me by David Nowell taken in 1963 when he went camping with then Medical students Harold Birch, who owned the car, and John Kidd. They loaded KHY 117 on to a Silver City Bristol 170 Superfreighter 32 at Lydd Airport in Kent and flew to Le Touquet...then via Switzerland to Italy. En-route they encountered brake failure, burnt exhaust valve (cylinder head off twice), silencer coming adrift and water pouring through the wiper spindles.
